Scheme: Completed in mid 2007 by Sitecroft Limited this scheme was an unconventional design requiring considerable detailing in respect of weathering, service entry positions means of escape, and in depth negotiations with both Building Control and the Fire Officer. The scheme of 20 affordable flats and three substantial commercial shop units presented major problems with ground conditions which were contaminated and very variable requiring a major engineering solution, there was also very little space available for the construction of the significant building which at one point is four stories in height. The scheme was competed ahead of programme and on budget. Build time 13 months.

Newington Court

Client: Western Challenge Housing Association

Sitecrofts Role: Detailed design, building regulations, construction on a fixed price contract.

Scheme: A residential redevelopment comprising of 6 affordable flats and two commercial units to the ground floor. This site was particularly confined to the extent that it was built on the back edge of the footpath and the only amenity space was through a 1.7m wide covered way to the rear. The scheme was assessed under EcoHomes and the design and calculations of same where part of Sitecroft's contract. The scheme has also achieved a Secured by Design Certification.
